What does it take to become a sponsor?
Money
Although we will not turn down your money, that is not what we are after. We want your Church, or Christian Orginization, to send volunteers and provide refreshments after the game.
We do not accept money for advertisement. The only names on our shirts are the first names of our athletes. We were told 7 years ago that this would not work, but God has seen us through.
Area Churches
We try to get a different area Church involved for each game. Sometimes, two small churches will team up together and help. If your church is small and would like to help, contact us, we will help you put things together. If your church is big, we can use you also. It is hard to plan exactly from week to week how many people will be at each game. Special Olympics, whom we are not afiliated with, often has events in May that will take some of our athletes for a weekend. We try to give a good estimate on how many to prepair for. The ball fields are close to a Food Lion, so you can always go to the store if needed. We also try to keep some cash on hand for such emergencies.
On the field, we need as much help that we can get. We have up to four ball fields going at one time, with each one having different amounts of help needed. We also have bleachers that need a rowdy crowd cheering the players on. On the back of the athletes shirt will be his or her name, so you can cheer for them!
Fellowship
Plan on taking your time. Our games will start at 9:30am and usually last about an hour. By the time we get done eating and cleaning up, it may be 1:30pm. We spend the time showing God's love through our fellowship and our service. We can not be in a hurry. Someone may want to know about this Jesus we keep talking about.
